New Year’s Resolution: Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)

One day this summer I was out running errands and this came across the car radio.

I almost stopped the car.

Where did this come from?  Why had I not heard it before?  Who wrote this?

When I returned home I immediately Googled to find the answer.

It turns out the lyrics were taken from a graduation essay written in 1997 by Mary Schmich, a columnist with the Chicago Tribune. In 1998 Australian film director, Baz Luhrmann, put the words to music in his album Something for Everyone.

If you have already heard this, listen again!  If you have not heard it, listen now!  It is a wonderful Healthy Discovery chalked full of wisdom and inspiration as you think about your goals and intentions for the New Year.

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Magical 2010!
