St. Patty’s Day Parade Went to The Dogs!
My friend Shireen has a Saint Bernard named Rusty. She adopted him from the Denver Saint Bernard Rescue a couple years ago. This weekend Shireen and I volunteered to ride on the Saint Bernard Rescue Float in the Denver St.Patrick’s Day Parade. We held and sat with some big, beautiful dogs!
This is Riley.
Isn’t he the most huggable thing ever!
This is Jada.
You can’t get anymore beautiful than this!
I am convinced that daily Saint Bernard hugs will heal any ailment! 🙂 There were 15 dogs on the float and they were the parade CROWD PLEASER, everyone loved them!
Shireen volunteers with this group, Got Drool, and I love to tag along when I can. These dogs are all rescued, fostered and adopted. People give numerous hours and energy to find good homes for the Saints.
Volunteering is a component of good health. When you can take some time out of your busy life I encourage you to give to others. Kids, animals, organizations and groups all around the country need volunteer support. Pick something that is interesting to you. Get outside of yourself and your problems. Volunteering lifts you up in more ways than you can imagine. It is a boomerang effect.
These are two quotes I include in my corporate Wellness Wheel workbook:
“I will do somebody a good turn and not get found out (if anybody knows it will not count).”- Anonymous
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not deter or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.”-Anonymous

I’m envious! I love Saint Bernards and think you picked a great way to spend your St. Patty’s Day. I’ll have to see if we have a local Saint Bernard rescue where I can volunteer someday.
