Your Best Year Yet!
Are you thinking about writing down your goals and intentions for 2009? Or have you already declared your new resolutions? I know there are a lot of goal setting options available, but I wanted to share one of my favorite Healthy Discoveries when it comes to creating and evaluating your goals.
It is called, Your Best Year Yet!: Ten Questions for Making the Next Twelve Months Your Most Successful Ever. I found this book 15 years ago when I lived in London. It has been my personal goal template ever since. Some years I’m more committed than other years to documenting things; either way these questions guide me through the process.
I like to sit down, think through, and write out my answers to all 10 questions.
This picture summarizes the process.

Whether you engage in a written process or you just ask yourself a couple quick questions such as:
-What disappointed you about this past year?
-What are you proud of from this past year?
-Is there anything you want to do differently next year?
When you clarify where you’ve been and where you’re going, it can give you a sense of purpose and, or feeling like you have choices. This can ultimately reduce stress and create better health.
Here’s to the choice and the declaration to live Your Best (an most healthy) Year Yet!
Happy New Year!

Somebody lent me this book and I’ve been working on my ten questions this week! They really help you focus.
Thanks for the info. I definitely need more focus
Happy belated Bday! Happy New Year!
Hope it’s a great and successful and happy 2009 for everyone!
Reevaluating your life situation is a good plan. Perhaps at the New Year, like changing the batteries in the smoke detector is the way to go.
