A Healing Salt Bath
Today I write to you from a cold, rainy, windy, did I say COLD Detroit, Michigan. FYI 45 degrees in wet humid Michigan is very different from 45 degrees in dry arid Colorado. Goodness!
I just taught a Stressed Out Solutions Class and tomorrow I’ll teach a Smoking Cessation Class. I’ll fly back to Colorado and paint my new home with the help of my fabulous friends. Moving day is Monday. Next Thursday I’ll board another plane to Minneapolis and teach MORE Stressed Out Solutions Classes. I think this might be called irony?
Actually I’m holding up well.
Thank goodness for cell phone and email access anywhere, anytime. It’s amazing how much I can check off my to do list in an airport.
When I’m on the plane I’ve been reading this book. I flipped through this many times but these days it really resonates with me and I’m reading it cover to cover. I highlighted this “Healthy Discovery” on page 28.
A Healing Salt Balt – “For centuries, salt has been used for cleansing and purification. It has the ability to disintegrate negativity, cleanse and increase energy. Every day, thousands of people still flock to the Dead Sea for its natural healing properties.”
- Draw a warm bath and put one to two pounds of sea salt (two to four cups) in the water.
- Add ten drops of lavender essential oil.
- Relax in the salt bath for at least twenty minutes.
- Make sure the majority of your body is covered with the salt water at some point during bathing.
- Visualize all physical, emotional, and mental stress leaving your body through your hands and feet and being disintegrated immediately.

Thanks for the book recommendation, it looks great! Baths are heavenly. Have fun with the classes- I know you’ll manage your stress just fine 🙂
My hubby has had cancer twice (he’s only 42). The treatments did quite a number on his joints. He swears by Epson salt baths almost every night. I wonder what the difference is in Epson salt and sea salt?
Adding the lavender sounds wonderful!
The coldest I ever remember being was while in the state of Michigan!
I see that your home out west is pretty cold now also. You need to put some southern cities in your travel plans 🙂
For some reason, I’ve always felt our nearby oceans had a healing feeling, especially during the warm summer months.
Sagan- Thanks!
Bonnie- Thanks for stopping by! I’m not sure about the difference between Epsom Salt and Sea Salt baths. I have taken Epsom Salt baths though…
Dr. J – I LOVE the ocean, I’m too land locked in CO. I actually have alot of southern cities in the agenda this year, unfortunately no trips to Florida…maybe next year…
