10 Tips For Eating Out

1. Avoid the rolls, bread and chips on the table before the meal arrives.

2. Drink water! Avoid soda and alcohol.

3. Order a salad with dressing on the side.

4. Order the entree with sauce on the side and add sparingly.

5. Ask for the main course to be broiled, baked, grilled (not fried)!

6. Choose mixed greens and vegetables over rice and potatoes.

7. Choose soup over starchy fried appetizers.

8. Often portions are large, try splitting an entree with your dining companion (dessert too!)

9. Don’t be afraid to ask for special preparations or inquire exactly how the dish is prepared. Restaurants are trained and prepared to serve individual dietary needs.

10. Enjoy! Don’t be so strict or severe that you make your diet part of your daily stress.
